  • OPD Services:

JSH has OPD  designed for the treatment of outpatients, people with health problems who visit the hospital for diagnosis or treatment but do not at this time require a bed or to be admitted for overnight care.

There are ten qualified specialists sit at JSH OPD to help and care our outpatient customers and they are:

  • -Gynaecology and Obstetrics,
  • -Ophthalmology,
  • -Neurology,
  • -Urology,
  • -Dentistry,
  • -Ear Nose and Throat (ENT),
  • -Orthopaedic,
  • -General Surgery,
  • -Internal medicine and Gastroenterology,
  • -Anaesthesiology,

 

  • IPD Services:

Inpatient department is one of our main departments. This is were the doctor admit the patient for the purposes of healthcare coverage, health insurance plans required.

We have 56 inpatients beds fully equipped with the most up-to-date operation theatres, all integrated with radiology and lab units.  

  • Laboratory

JSH has one of the best-equipped laboratories with fully automated machines, well trained and skilled technical staff. We ensure the quality of our services is at the highest level and maintained as such throughout.

The Laboratory is headed by a Consultant Microbiologist/ Manager and each of the sections has a Senior Technologist supervising and a consultant Microbiologist reviewing all the results.

The Laboratory sections include :

  • Biochemistry 
  • Basic chemistry:

 

Here we run basic chemistry tests such as liver function tests, renal function tests, water balance among others 

  • Special Chemistry

In this section, we perform specialized tests which include Immunochemistry, Endocrinology, drugs of abuse, therapeutic drugs and other rapid serology tests.

  • Microbiology:

 Culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing for all body fluids including blood,   CSFand biopsies

  • Haematology: 

Include full blood count and reticulocyte count 

  • Blood bank services:

 

We prepare different blood products which include whole blood, platelet concentrate, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate and packed red cells.

  • Pharmacy

At JSH’s Pharmacy, our team of around 6 pharmaceutical technology staff work together with other departments to ensure quality and safe medication/therapy for our patients.

We aim at being the reference centre and centre of excellence in multi-specialty, including pharmaceutical practice and pharmacovigilance in Somalia by offering good quality drugs in this dynamic field of medicine and provide service that is information-driven in our pharmacy.

IMAGING SERVICES

Jazeera Specialist hospital Radiology Unit is a modern, dynamic and professional Diagnostic Imaging Centre with state-of-the-art technology and committed to provide our patient with the highest standard of care.

All routine imaging is performed digitally using the latest computed radiography systems or direct digital systems. Images are displayed on high resolution monitors and recorded on dry films, CDs or DVDs.

The department is fortified with a team of radiologists and trained/certified radiographers

We have one 0.3 3T high end and state of the art MRI scanner:

Siemens Magnetom Verio 0.3 Tesla

We carry out special MRI examinations such as:

  1. MRI spectroscopy
  2. MRI CSF Flow studies
  3. Paediatric examinations
  4. MRI Arteriography/ Venography
  5. We have MRI compatible with the anesthetic machine for sedating patients and for life support and the most conventional MRI examinations

 

  • Ultra Sound

The department has acquired the new generation equipment in elastography and provides a wide range of ultrasound examinations including Colour Doppler studies, high-resolution Breast Scan, Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and Drainage procedures under ultrasound guidance.

Other applications available include elastography and ultrasound of the heart called echocardiography. Radiologists and Sonographers are available twenty-four hours a day for services and appropriate consultation.

Appointments are for special cases like FNA and Biopsies.

 

  • Operation Theatre (OT)

Jazeera Specialist Hospital Theatre is a group of four operating rooms with advanced equipment and well-trained staff who ensure that surgical procedures are carried out efficiently. The theatres are open 24 hours a day and emergencies take priority over elective surgeries. The theatre staffs are provided with special attire and high standard of cleanliness is maintained with quarterly agar plating carried out to monitor efficacy.

 MINOR OPERATING CENTER

The hospital has four major operating theatres. The surgeries carried out here include:

  • ENT.
  • Orthopaedic.
  • Joint replacement.
  • General surgery.
  • Gynaecological.
  • Ophthalmology.
  • Maxillofacial.

The room is located at the convenience of the labour ward and takes care of maternity cases.

Emergency and scheduled caesarean section operations are carried out here.

 

  • Intensive Care Unit

A 4-bed Critical care unit – well-equipped ICU with the latest hi-tech precision instruments such as central monitor with multi-parameters, blood gas machine with round the clock doctors and ICU technician together with trained nurses looking after the patients.

  • At the ICU, the JSH provides intensive care services to patients through our ICU trained nurse who closely monitor the Unit.
  • Movement and visits are minimised at the ICU to ensure fast recovery and comfortability of the patients.
  • The unit has put in place high standards of cleanliness and infection control standards are adhered to in order to prevent and/or minimize infections.
  • The staffs at the ICU are trained in advanced life support and continuously upgrade the skills to be at par with the required medical standards.
  • The ICU is 24/7 operational with standby staff to treat and care for critical patients
  • Maternity:

It is situated at a strategic position to the maternity wards, ICU, neonatal unit and the operation theatres. High standards of hygiene are maintained, a process lead by our able gynaecologists, nurses and the midwives. 

  • Emergency:

We have a 24 hour fully operational emergency department with a standby ambulance
